Meet the Team
Subna Hirani
Director/Designated Safeguarding Lead/ SENCO
Subna is the owner and director of Shooting Star Childcare (Welling).
Subna was born in Wales and persued a career in the fashion industry as a fashion designer after university.
Subna had her own fashion brand before deciding to work with children.

Subna created Shooting Star Childcare (Welling) in 2016 as a childminder and grew the buisness to the homebased nursery that we know and love today.
​
Subna enjoys travelling and learning about different countres and cultures. She often brings back authentic ressources from her travels for the children to discover.
​
Subna enjoys watching all the children and her staff learn and grow and couldn't be prouder when the children acheive new milestones.

Sanjay Hirani
Financial Director
Sanjay is the proud husband of Subna. He supported Subna when the buisness was created back in 2016.
​
Sanjay came to England from Kenya in 2002 where he was an entrepreneur. Sanjay has worked in the construction indstry as a site manager, all over London, for the past 20 years.
​
Sanjay (or Uncle as they call him) enjoys playing with the children on his days off work and watching them grow. Sanjay has an enhanced DBS and full OFSTED suitability checks to work with children who absolutely love seeing him.

Sanjay has created several amazing ressources for Shooting Star Childcare (Welling) including our lovely vegetable planters.
Cathy
Deputy Manager/Designated Safeguarding Lead /SENCO
Cathy has worked for Shooting Star Childcare since 2017 and is our longest serving team member.
Cathy lived in France for 11 years and is fluent in French.
Cathy competed in Equestrian Dressage including the French National Championship. She also organised several French regional dressage competitions. Cathy does most of the cooking for Shooting Star Childcare (Welling) including Subna's Indian curries.) She is also the main gardener for the setting and always encourages the children to join in and learn about where their food comes from.
Cathy has 2 children of Primary School age and her main aim is that all the children in her care have the best start in life and a safe, caring environment to nuture their minds.
Lois
This is Lois.
Lois joined the team in January 2024.
Lois is enrolled on an apprenticeship to gain more skills to support the children's development at Shooting Star Childcare (Welling).
Kaitlan
Kaitlan is English and Albanian and speaks both languages fluently.
Kaitlan left sixth-form to persue a career in Early Years. Kaitlan completed her Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship with Shooting Star Childcare and now works as a room leader.
Kaitlan finds working with children really rewarding and interesting. Her favourite part of working in Early Years is that no day is the same.
Lyla
Lyla joined our team in October 2023 as a level 2 apprentice.
Lyla loves seeing the children develop their unique personalities.
Tingting
TingTing is a level 2 Early Years practitioner.
